Star Lake

This weekend our college choir, 'Touring Choir', went on a really nice retreat to Star Lake in the Adirondacks. It can be so easy to forget how nice the outdoors is when one spends so much time in a practice room, but I'm very glad I was reminded! However, with everything good, comes something, well, not so good. I'm really tired. All of the canoeing, campfiring, and Hath Yogaing, really took a tole on me!

Right now, I'm working on a proposal for a Presidential Scholars Project on the Sociological Implications and Effects of Film Scoring. Basically, why are certain pieces chosen for film instead of others? And, when new music is being composed for a film, what is it that the composer is trying to achieve/convey? Any thoughts? At this point, I'm just trying to get as many ideas as possible, so feel free. If you have a particular movie (especially if it's not really main stream) that has a really good score or music that really struck you, please, let me know!

That is all for now. My goal is to have more frequent posts--Wish me luck!
